IC 4769 is a bar-spiral galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type SBbc in the constellation Peacock in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 198 million light years from the Milky Way and about 110,000 light years across .
The galaxies IC 4765 , IC 4766 , IC 4767 , IC 4771 are in the same region of the sky .

The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart on July 20, 1901 .
