IC 4788 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sc in the constellation Peacock on southern sky . It is estimated to be 176 million light years from the Milky Way and about 85,000 light years in diameter .
The galaxies NGC 6706 and IC 4781 are in the same region of the sky .
The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart on July 20, 1901 .
