IC 4787 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBm in the constellation Peacock in the southern sky . It is an estimated 184 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 70,000 light years in diameter .
The galaxy IC 4789 is located in the same region of the sky .

The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart in September 1900 .
