The IKK Sachsen was a German guild health insurance fund . It was the second largest health insurance company in Saxony . As a health insurance company, IKK Sachsen was a corporation under public law with its seat in Dresden .
history
In 1991 eight regional IKK with 105,000 members were founded in Saxony. The regional IKK were only accessible to workers in guilds. In 2000, the regional IKK merged to form the IKK Sachsen and were open to everyone. In June 2007, the number of members exceeded 500,000, plus 140,000 family members. The number of members had doubled since 2004.
