The IKK classic is a German health insurer from the group of guild health insurers based in Dresden . history

The IKK classic was created on January 1, 2010 from the merger of IKK Baden-Württemberg and Hesse , IKK Hamburg , IKK Saxony and IKK Thuringia . At that time, these had 1,892,288 insured persons, a budget volume of 4.1 billion euros and over 190 business outlets. On October 29, 2009 the boards of directors of the four participating IKKs in Dresden decided to merge. The head office of the health insurance is in Dresden . On August 1, 2011, the United IKK was included in the IKK classic following a resolution by the respective Board of Directors on July 5, 2011 .

The IKK classic is led by a full-time two-person board : Frank Hippler (chairman of the board) and Kai Swoboda (deputy chairman of the board). The board of directors controls the operative business and all administrative areas. He represents the IKK classic in and out of court. The board of directors reports to the board of directors on the implementation of decisions of fundamental importance, the corporate and financial development.

The board of directors is the control or steering body. It consists of 30 people and is made up of representatives from insured persons and employers. Its members are determined in social elections that take place every six years. You work on a voluntary basis and are economically independent from the IKK classic. At the head of the board of directors are representatives of the employers (Stefan Füll) and the insured (Bert Römer), who take turns in the chair every year.

State Advisory Board

For the area of ​​each regional directorate, the administrative board forms a regional advisory committee as an advisory committee to strengthen the regional connection. The state advisory board consists equally of insured and employer representatives.

Contribution rates

The IKK classic has been charging an income-related additional contribution since May 1, 2019, which has been 1.0 percent of the contributory income. The total contribution is therefore 15.6 percent.
