The Guild Health Insurance Fund North ( IKK Nord ) is a German health insurance company from the group of Guild Health Insurance Funds based in Schwerin . As the carrier of the statutory health insurance and long-term care insurance , it is a corporation under public law (KdöR).

Service center and service point

The total of 21 service centers (as of March 2020) of the IKK Nord offer the insured personal customer service in Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The additional 13 service points (as of March 2020) , which are also located throughout Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, complement the range of services.

Board of Directors and Board of Directors

The board is responsible for the administration of IKK Nord and represents it in and out of court. It consists of one person, Ralf Hermes, a health insurance business graduate.

The board of directors consists of 14 insured and 14 employer representatives and is therefore equally composed . The chairmen of the board of directors are Jens Karp (chairman of the board of directors of the insured person's representatives) and Helmut Kastner (chairman of the board of directors of the employer representatives). All members of the Board of Directors work on a voluntary basis; it was newly constituted on July 7, 2017 in the course of the social elections .

Education and training

At IKK Nord, social security clerks (SoFa) and office management clerks (KBM) are trained at five different locations. Currently (as of March 2020) 25 trainees are working at IKK Nord. In addition, the IKK Nord supports the advanced training courses to become a health insurance specialist, a specialist in management and leadership as well as a specialist in consulting and sales.

Thanks to the partnership with Vivy, insured persons at IKK Nord have been able to use a personal electronic health record with digital health assistants via app since September 17, 2018. The Ice Sports Club (EC) in Timmendorf has also been an official health partner of IKK Nord since October 2019. In addition to classic sponsorship , the partnership is also intended to promote prevention and health promotion for the various target groups.

Contribution rate

The general contribution rate has been standardized by the legislator since January 1, 2009 and is 14.6 percent of contributory income. Since the contribution rate is not sufficient to cover all costs of the IKK Nord, an additional contribution is charged, which was 0.9 percent in 2015 and has been 1.3 percent since 2016.
