Iberg (formerly also Yberg , al. Ybrig ) was an independent political municipality in the canton of Schwyz in Switzerland until it was divided into the municipalities of Oberiberg and Unteriberg in 1884 .

The name Iberg was first mentioned in a document in 1350. The meaning is: "The mountain on which yews grow". This Iberg is now called Guggern . The yew tree is also shown on the coats of arms of Oberiberg and Unteriberg .
