Riemenstalden is a municipality in the canton of Schwyz in Switzerland . It belongs to the district of Schwyz and is the smallest municipality in terms of population.
geography
The village center lies high above Lake Lucerne at 1030 m above sea level. M. and can be reached via an access road from Sisikon ( Canton Uri ).
The Riemenstaldertal is haunted again and again by natural forces, including avalanches , debris flows and raging torrents in the catchment area of the Riemenstaldnerbach .
tourism
The Riemenstaldertal is known for its ski touring area Lidernen, with the Blüemberg. This ski tour leads from the Chäppeliberg over the Lidernen up to the Blüemberg and then offers a descent of 1,800 meters down into the Muotathal .
In summer, various hikes lead to the surrounding mountains of the Kaiserstock chain, including via the Alplersee to the Rophaien panoramic mountain .
Personalities
From 1824 to 1828 Alois Fuchs worked as a pastor and teacher in Riemenstalden.
Attractions
The parish church Maria zum Guten Rat in Riemenstalden is worth seeing with its wonderful frescoes. On the Roslaui in Chäppelimatt there is a chapel dedicated to St. John.
