The Idarbach is a stream in the Hunsrück .

geography

The Idarbach is created by several source streams in the northern Idarwald near Hochscheid ; the dominant source line from the southwest bears the name Altbach along its greatest length . Together with this, the Idarbach flows around the Idarwald in an arc that extends to the north and joins the Kyrbach to the Hahnenbach from the right at Hausen .

Flora and fauna

The Idarbach flows through extensively used valley meadows, with willows and alders on the banks that are hardly used economically today. In the area between Krummenau and Rhaunen the valley becomes narrower, slopes wooded with oak and hornbeam border directly on the stream. Gray herons and mallards are the most common water birds in the Bachtal.
