Background and goals

The initiative to discover future technology was launched by ThyssenKrupp AG in 2004 against the background of an increasing shortage of young people in technical professions. According to the initiative, the aim of the initiative is to interest young people in technology and science and to increase the social status of technical and scientific education. To this end, ThyssenKrupp is cooperating with a growing number of partners from science, business and society.

The highlight of the initiative is the Ideas Park , which, as a central platform, is intended to promote the dialogue on the subject of technology across all social groups and age groups. The focus is on direct contact with engineers, researchers and technicians, who explain their ideas to visitors and show first-hand how innovations are created. According to ThyssenKrupp, the free event is ad-free, non-commercial and child-friendly.
