Ignatz Brenner of Felsach

Igna (t) z Brenner, Knight of Felsach (also known as Igna (t) z von Brenner-Felsach ) (born March 28, 1772 in Vienna ; † January 10, 1849 ibid) was an Austrian diplomat and orientalist .

biography

Ignatz Brenner was admitted as a pupil at the age of 15 (1787) at the Vienna Imperial and Royal Oriental Academy . With the knowledge he gained there, he was able to write a drama in Turkish. He also wrote a Chagata dictionary. Subsequently he became a palace interpreter in Constantinople . In 1802 he was Hofkonzipist in Vienna, in 1806 he came as a consular agent in the Wallachia . In 1810 he was back in Vienna, where he became court secretary in the oriental section of the State Chancellery. On May 31, 1818, he was awarded the title of nobility of Felsach in the knighthood raised.

It is not known whether Brenner von Felsach also lived in Gainfarn , where his son Adolph Brenner von Felsach was born in 1814, as the two castles Gainfarn and Merkenstein only came into the family's possession later.

The Hofrat in the Imperial and Royal Foreign Ministry was in command of the Austro-Imperial Leopold Order , Knight of the Royal Hungarian Order of Saint Stephen and several other orders. He was also the treasurer of the Imperial and Royal Military Maria Theresa Order . He died on January 10, 1849 in Vienna, in the house at Am Hohen Markt 511.

The burner street in Vienna- Liesing (23rd District) is named after him.
