Ignaz Zadek junior

Ignaz Zadek (born February 16, 1887 in Rixdorf , † March 14, 1959 in Berlin ) was a German doctor and Berlin local politician.

Life

Zadek was the son of Ignaz Zadek (1858–1931) - also a doctor in Neukölln - and Hedwig Korbasiewicz. He went to the Gymnasium Zum Grauen Kloster in Berlin and then studied medicine in Berlin , Freiburg and Munich . From 1911 to 1933 he was a doctor at the Neukölln Municipal Hospital . In 1933 he was released because of his Jewish origins. He maintained a private practice until 1945. From 1945 to 1957 he worked again at the Neukölln Clinic as its medical director in order to rebuild the clinic as such.

He was also a full professor.

Between 1946 and 1948 he was a city ​​councilor of the SPD and from 1957 to 1959 he was chairman of the working group of social democratic doctors.

Zadek was married twice and had a son with his second wife.

In his honor, the Zadekstrasse at the Neukölln Clinic in Berlin-Buckow was named in 1966 .
