action

To make life easier for his son Roderich, who is not very suitable for the hussar service , father Lampl tries to get his superior Corporal Fekete favorable. When invited to Lampl's house, the corporal falls in love with Lampel's sister-in-law Therese, who, however, is a very resolute young woman and knows how to hide her burgeoning feelings. When, through a misunderstanding, she also thinks that Fekete is courting cook Marie, she turns away from him, hurt.

Meanwhile, Roderich succeeds in improving his situation with the hussars. He has fallen in love with the daughter of his colonel, Isabell Mannstorf, who takes care of him and with whose help he can improve his riding skills significantly. By a stroke of luck, he can also excel in maneuvers. Corporal Fekete finally manages to clear up the misunderstanding and win Therese over.

criticism

“A silly military amusement game with brightly colored uniforms, brisk marching music and dashing Viennese girls. No more than operetta duds, dull in plot, direction and performance. "
