Sepp Reef

Sepp Riff (born February 17, 1928 in Neuhofen im Innkreis , † February 19, 2000 in Baden ) was an Austrian cameraman and television producer .

Life

Riff started out as a newsreel cameraman and initially made short and documentary films. From 1955 full-length feature films followed. After that he worked especially for television, where he was involved in series such as If the music wasn't and Permit, my name is Cox (with Günter Pfitzmann ).

During the 1970s, Riff turned to teaching and teaching camera technology. Then he formed a joint production company with the journalist Hugo Portisch and designed several historical documentaries such as Austria I and Austria II for ORF . For his historical documentary series on the history of Austria after 1945 Austria II from 1981 to 1995 he and Portisch received a Golden Camera in 1983 .

Riff was temporarily married to the actress Lotte Ledl . Their son Alexander Riff (-Ledl) (* 1966), musical performer, dancer and choreographer comes from the marriage.

Sepp Riff died of a stroke after spending several years in the Hilde Wagener artists' home in Baden .
