The naive, attractive high school student Hakufu Sonsaku is the "chosen one". She inherited the so-called Magatama , a soul stone, from her father . In this is the soul of a legendary hero from a bygone era.

Hakufu moves to Nanyou Private School and wants to heed her mother Goei's advice to earn the respect of the other students. She tries to do this with the help of her fighting strength and immediately beats up thirty of her classmates. As a result, one of the four kings of the sky from Nanyou becomes aware of them and puts Hakufu in their place. The four Heavenly Kings are the gigantic Gakushuu, the crazy Kouha Kannei, the brutally doing her day's work Ryomou Shimei and the smart Genpou Saji. Just like Hakufu, they have inherited a special kind of soul stone. For this reason, the four Heavenly Kings suspect that Hakufu is the reincarnation of a feared warrior from the time of the Three Kingdoms.

Enjutsu, the secret ruler of the Nanyou school, learns about this and, before Hakufu becomes too dangerous for the school, she and her cousin Koukin Shuuyu, with whom she lives, is sentenced to death for as long as she attends the Nanyou private school. Koukin is in the sophomore year of private school and through the many fights at the school trained in combat. Enjutsu sends Ryomou Shimei to execute Hakufu and knocks her out. As a result, the dragon slumbering inside Sonsaku wakes up for the first time and so she can defeat Ryomou, but loses her consciousness and can no longer remember this incident.

Background information

The plot is based on the novel The Story of the Three Kingdoms . The characters appearing in Dragon Girls are all rebirths of the fighters from that time including the same names only in Japanese pronunciation. Thus, they not only carry old hatred, rivalries and hostilities with them, but also cause the events of that time to repeat themselves.
