Gersdorf an der Feistritz is located in the Weiz district in the Austrian state of Styria and covers an area of ​​30.07 km².

coat of arms

The municipal coat of arms was awarded with effect from January 1, 1985. Due to the amalgamation of the municipalities, the coat of arms lost its official validity on January 1, 2015.

The re-award took effect on December 1, 2015.
The blazon reads:

"In red over a golden ger, a leafy golden branch with three golden apples in bars."

The ger ( trident ) refers to the fish wealth of Feistritz , the branch with the golden apples testifies to the diligence of the community citizens in fruit growing.

The name Gersdorf is made up of the word Ger and village.

• Josefa and Rupert Posch from Gschmaier: In the course of the death marches, father and daughter Posch managed to hide five Jewish people from the Nazis and to save them from death.
