Großhart is a former municipality with 636 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019) in the judicial district of Fürstenfeld , Hartberg-Fürstenfeld district , Styria ( Austria ). Since 2015 it has been merged with the communities of Hartl and Tiefenbach bei Kaindorf as part of the Styrian community structural reform , the new community bears the name "Hartl".

Geographical location

Großhart is located in the south of the Hartberg district, about 12 km south of the district capital Hartberg and about 40 km east of the provincial capital Graz . The community is located in the Eastern Styrian hill country and is located on the Harter Teich. It is drained by the Harter Bach and the Mühlbach, which flow into the Feistritz near Hainersdorf .

On November 20, 2011, the eligible voters of the communities Dienersdorf , Ebersdorf , Großhart, Hartl , Hofkirchen bei Hartberg , Kaindorf and Tiefenbach bei Kaindorf voted on whether these seven communities should be merged into one large community. With a total turnout of 65.66%, 3351 valid votes were counted. Of these, only 436 voters (13%) voted for a merger of the municipalities, while 2915 voters (87%) voted against a merger. This clearly rejected the plans of the Styrian state government .

Großhart is located on the state road from Bad Waltersdorf to Pischelsdorf in Styria . The south autobahn A2 from Vienna to Graz can be reached in around five kilometers via the Sebersdorf / Bad Waltersdorf junction (exit 126). The change road B 54 from Hartberg to Gleisdorf can be reached in Pischelsdorf in about twelve kilometers.

Großhart has no rail connection. The nearest train station is about six kilometers away in Bad Waltersdorf and offers access to the Thermenbahn with two-hour regional train connections to Vienna and Hartberg or Fehring .

Hard pond

The hard pond has an area of ​​13 hectares and for its size has an abundant fish population. a. Carp , catfish , pike and pikeperch . The pond is therefore very popular among anglers .
