Dienersdorf is located on the south-eastern edge of the Pöllauer Tal nature park , but is not in it itself. The Pöllauer Safen flows through Dienersdorf .
structure
The community consisted of the only cadastral community and village of the same name Dienersdorf.
history
Dienersdorf is a clustered village that was probably founded during the colonization period and was first mentioned in 1396 as Diennestorf . In the following years the village is also called Dyenerstorf (1419), Dyeneßdorff (1504), Dienestorff (1542) and Dienerstorff (1572).
The municipality belonged to the clearing area of Konrad von Safen. Due to the place name, his son Dietbrant is assumed to be the founder of the village. After the Safeners died out at the end of the 12th century, Dienersdorf came to the Stubenbergs and finally in 1396 to Hans von Stubenberg. He sold it to Heinrich von Neuberg in 1459 . After his death, Dienersdorf came to Pöllau Abbey in 1504 .
- The Dienersberg settlement was first mentioned as Diennersperg in 1571 and was the vineyard of the surrounding gentlemen.
- The Großbach settlement was first mentioned in 1318 and came to the Neubergers in 1478.
- The Haselhof-Haselberg settlement was first mentioned at the end of the 15th century and is a reminder of the hazel bushes that were already common back then .
- The Khaag-Altenberg settlement appeared for the first time as in Gehag , but was still uninhabited at the time.
- The Hochstraße-Bankl settlement was first mentioned in 1500 as a traffic route that could have existed as far back as Roman times .
- The settlement Kruckental was first mentioned in 1478 as in Chruckental . Winzenheim Bach was in 1419 as Wynssenpach called and was a settlement of wine growers .
In the course of the 1770 census, Dienersdorf was combined with the surrounding settlements as a census unit. Later it became a tax and cadastral municipality in this constellation. With the elimination of the manorial subordination in 1848, Dienersdorf became an independent municipality, which consisted of the village and the surrounding settlements.
The community has been part of the Kaindorf ecoregion since 2007 .

On November 20, 2011, the eligible voters of the communities Dienersdorf, Ebersdorf , Großhart , Hartl , Hofkirchen bei Hartberg , Kaindorf and Tiefenbach bei Kaindorf voted on whether these seven communities should be merged into one large community on the occasion of the structural reform of Styria 2010-2015 . With a total turnout of 65.66%, 3351 valid votes were counted. Of these, only 436 voters (13%) voted for a merger of the municipalities, while 2915 voters (87%) voted against a merger. A concept from 2012/13 envisages the merger of Dienersdorf, Hofkirchen and Kaindorf to form a community of around 2,000 inhabitants.
