Preßguts is a former municipality with 402 inhabitants (as of October 31, 2013) in Eastern Styria. As part of the municipal structural reform in Styria , it was incorporated into the Ilztal municipality on January 1, 2015 . The basis for this was the Styrian Municipal Structural Reform Act - StGsrG. A complaint brought by the municipality against the amalgamation to the Constitutional Court was unsuccessful.

Community structure

The municipality comprised the following two localities (population in brackets as of January 1, 2020):

  • Nitschaberg (140)
  • Material to be pressed (302)

The community consisted of the only cadastral community Preßguts.

politics

The municipal council was dissolved on December 31, 2014. Until then, after the municipal council elections in 2010, it was composed as follows: 6 ÖVP and 3 SPÖ .

The last mayor was Alois Schlemmer (ÖVP).

The municipal coat of arms was awarded with effect from August 1, 2006.
