history

Albersdorf was first mentioned in a document in 1340. The Göß monastery was an important landlord in the municipality. In 1968 Albersdorf-Prebuch emerged from the communities of Albersdorf and Prebuch.

Prebuch was first mentioned in 1450 as "Prepuech". The name goes back to the Slovenian prepuch (windy, exposed place).

The coat of arms was awarded in 1990 at the 650th anniversary of Albersdorf: "The red and black are divided by a golden bar from which three leafy golden apples grow upwards and three golden vine leaves downwards."

  • USV Magna Albersdorf-Prebuch The association was founded in 1984. Math Rupert was chairman and initiator at the time. In 1990 the club house was built. In 1994 the Albersdorf-Prebuch sports club joined the Styrian Football Association and was officially represented in the championship. The first championship game took place in the 1993/1994 season on August 28th. Current chairman as of 2017: Richard Eberl
  • The Apfelschlössl was designed by the painter Karl Hodina . Inside is the base of the Prebuch volunteer fire brigade and a cafe. There is a tennis court at the rear of the building.

Economy and Infrastructure

The predominant viticulture in the Prebuch, Kalch and Wollsdorferegg area was largely abandoned in the 20th century. Today fruit growing predominates in the region. Due to the proximity to the cities of Gleisdorf , Weiz and Graz , many residents are commuters today.
