Ilhéu de Baixo is an uninhabited island on the southeast tip of the Azores island of Graciosa . It is known for its wealth and diversity of sea birds and is therefore a nature reserve.

The 9 hectare island is 700 meters from Ponta da Restinga, the southeastern Cape Graciosas. The island is the 73 m high remnant of an eroded volcanic cone . It has a few caves and is surrounded by smaller rocks.

Ilhéu de Baixo is the breeding area of a species-rich community of sea birds and is therefore designated by BirdLife International together with the neighboring Graciosa coast and a marine area of 203 hectares as the Important Bird Area PT059 "Ilhéu de Baixo e costa adjacente" and by the Portuguese state as Sítio de Importância Comunitária "Ilhéu de Baixo, Restinga e Medidas de Gestão Propostas" (PTGRA0015) shown. High conservation values of the applicable Bulwer's Petrel ( Bulweria bulwerii ), the Sepia shearwaters ( Calonectris diomedea ), the roseate tern ( Sterna dougallii ), the common tern ( Sterna hirundo ), the Barolo shearwater ( Puffinus Baroli ), the little egret ( Egretta garzetta ) the Madeira wave runner ( Oceanodroma castro ) and the Cape Verde petrel ( Pterodroma feae ). Are also represented the Steinwälzer ( Arenaria interpres ), the Sanderling ( Calidris alba ), the Seeregenpfeifer ( Charadrius alexandrinus ), the rock pigeon ( Columba livia ), the Weißkopfmöwe ( Larus cachinnans Atlantis ), the gull ( Larus marinus ), the black-headed gull ( Larus ridibundus ) and the whimbrel ( Numenius phaeopus ).
