Im Hintern Eis ( Punta della Vedretta in Italian ) is a 3270 m slm high, non- glaciated summit in the Schnalskamm of the Ötztal Alps on the border between Austria and Italy . Together with the Innere Quellspitze ( 3514 m above sea level ), the Teufelsegg ( 3227 m above sea level ) and the Egg ( 3219 m above sea level ), the mountain forms the southern edge of the Hintereisferner .
Ascent
The starting point for the ascent of the easy hiking summit with an excellent view is the Schöne-Aussicht-Hütte ( 2842 m slm ), which can be reached quickly from South Tyrol from Kurzras at the end of the Schnalstal valley .
outlook
From the summit with a simple metal cross there is an impressive panoramic view of the glaciated mountains: of the nearby Weißkugel ( 3739 m ) and the Langtauferer Spitze ( 3529 m ) with the Hintereisferner as well as the entire Weißkamm to the Wildspitze ( 3770 m ) , the Hochjochferner with its bounding peaks such as Fineilspitze ( 3514 m ) and Saykogel ( 3355 m ), as well as the nearby Saldurspitze ( 3433 m ), behind which the Ortler Alps draw the eye.
