Natingen , with its 293 inhabitants, belongs to the town of Borgentreich in the Höxter district in North Rhine-Westphalia . It is the northernmost part of the city.

history

The place is mentioned for the first time in 1226. The first documentary mention was made on March 12, 1268. At that time the village was named Nathge . Other names were Natenchen, Netage, Natche, Natinghe and Natinghen .

Immedeshausen was south of the village . It was mentioned between 1244 and 1248. Presumably at the end of the Soest feud , it went under.

In 1807 Natingen became part of the canton of Gehrden in the Kingdom of Westphalia founded by Napoleon . With the establishment of the Warburg district in 1816, Natingen became part of the Gehrden office . After its union with the Office Dringenberg for office Dringenberg-Gehrden 1856 Natingen part of the Office Borgentreich . With the dissolution of the Warburg district and the Borgentreich office through the Sauerland / Paderborn law , Natingen was incorporated into the town of Borgentreich on January 1, 1975 .

In 1856 a 16.5 kilogram heavy meteorite was found near Natingen and registered under the official name "Hainholz". It has been classified as a subgroup A4 mesosiderite . The place of discovery is given differently in various publications, but is said to be at Gut Hainholz near Natingen.
