Inge Friedrich

Inge Friedrich (born March 28, 1941 in Gütersloh ) is a German administrative lawyer . From 1993 to 1996 she was the district president of the administrative district of Kassel .

Life

After graduating from high school, Friedrich first studied medicine, then law at the universities of Münster and Tübingen . She passed the second state examination in law and then worked as a court assessor, public prosecutor and judge in Baden-Württemberg. In 1973 she moved to Essen as a legal advisor and in 1977 she was the first woman to be elected to the head of administration by the Senate of the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences . She was Chancellor of the University of Applied Sciences until 1986 when she was entrusted with the management of a department in the Hessian Ministry for the Environment, Energy and Federal Affairs .

Friedrich, a member of the SPD , was appointed government president of the administrative district of Kassel in July 1993. During her term of office, the administrative reform process of the administrative district began, the Kassel “Sattelfest” was introduced in 1995 and the “North Hesse Conference” initiative was revived. In July 1996 she moved to the Hessian Ministry for Women, Labor and Social Affairs as head of the central department .
