Percy von Bernstorff

Albrecht Karl Leo Adolf Robert Percy Graf von Bernstorff (born June 17, 1858 in London , † December 18, 1930 in Preetz ) was a German administrative lawyer . From 1905 to 1919 he was the district president of the administrative district of Kassel in the province of Hessen-Nassau .

Bernstorff was the son of the Prussian ambassador Albrecht von Bernstorff and older brother of Johann Heinrich Graf von Bernstorff . From 1876 to 1879 he studied law at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Berlin and the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . He entered the internal administration of the Kingdom of Prussia and in 1885 became a government assessor in Königsberg i. Pr.

In 1888 he was appointed district administrator of the Ostprignitz district and in 1893 was elected to the Prussian House of Representatives. From 1901 to 1905 he was Police Director ( Police President ) in Potsdam . From there he went to Kassel in 1905 as district president . He remained in this office for a long time. In 1919 he resigned from office.

Bernstorff toured France, Turkey and India. As a former Rittmeister , he pursued equestrian sports.
