Otto Stoelzel

Otto Stölzel (born September 3, 1869 in Kassel ; † July 29, 1945 in Marburg ) was a German politician in Hesse and from April 30, 1926 to February 3, 1927, District President of the Kassel administrative district.

education and profession

After studying law at the Universities of Lausanne , Berlin, Marburg and Leipzig , which he passed with a state examination grading “good”, Otto Stoelzel worked in 1890 as a trainee lawyer at the Bernau District Court.

Before he passed his state examination on October 2, 1895 with the rating “good”, he served as a one-year volunteer with the 1st Guards Field Artillery Regiment from 1890 to 1891 and was most recently major in the reserves of the 3rd Guards Field Artillery Regiment.

From 1895 to 1914 he worked as an unskilled worker or judge at various courts. In addition, he began to get involved in political ministries until he was finally in 1914 Royal Prussian Privy Councilor and Lecturing Council in the Prussian Ministry of the Interior.

At the First World War to Stoelzel participated from September 1914 to November 1915 as captain of the reserve and battery commander in the Field Artillery Regiment. 82. He was on leave following a serious injury and dismissed from the military service on 29 February 1916.

Subsequently, in 1918, he was appointed to the Secret Upper Government Council and Lecturing Council in the Ministry of the Interior and in 1921 to departmental director in the Ministry of the Interior.

On April 16, 1926, Otto Stoelzel Acting President of the Government in Kassel and was on April 30, 1926 to February 3, 1927 as President of the Government of the governmental district Kassel operates. After arguments with the provincial committee and the interior ministry, Stoelzel went into temporary retirement.
