Ingested is a death metal / grindcore band from Manchester , Greater Manchester , United Kingdom , formed in 2002 .

history

Ingested was founded in 2002 in the English metropolis of Manchester under the name Age of Suffering . Under this name the demo Human Feed was released in 2005 and the EP Holy Butchery a year later. After several line-up changes, the band consists of singer Jason Evans, the two guitarists Sam Yates and Sean Hynes, bassist Brad Fuller and drummer Lyn Jeffs. Jeffs and Hynes have played in the grindcore band Annotations of an Autopsy in the past .

In June 2009 the band released their debut album Surpassing the Boundaries of Human Suffering on Candlelight Records and Siege of Amida Records . Almost two years later, the successor The Surreption was released , followed in 2013 by the mini CD Revered by No One, Feared by All . The third album was released via Century Media in January 2015 under the name The Architect of Extinction .

The group has been under contract with Unique Leader Records since 2016 . The release of the fourth studio album The Level Above Human is planned for April 2018 .

In January 2010 the band completed their first European tour as part of the Bonecrusher Festival as the opener for Carnifex , The Faceless , 3 Inches of Blood and The Black Dahlia Murder . Further tours followed with groups such as Annotations of an Autopsy , Martyr Defiled , as well as festival appearances at Obscene Extreme , Extremefest and Ghostfest . In 2016, the group toured North America for the first time as part of the Summer Slaughter Tour . A second tour through the United States , Canada and, for the first time, Mexico will follow in mid-2018 . This is followed by another European tour.

music

Ingested's music can be described as a mixture of brutal death metal and grindcore . Through the use of breakdowns , influences from Deathcore are sometimes identified, whereby Ingested is not a hardcore band that works with elements of Death Metal. The music is compared with groups like Skinless and Devourment .

Also through the use of blast beats the music comes across like Death Metal, whereby elements of Deathcore are recognizable. This is what the band sounds like on their second album The Surreption like Ion Dissonance and Despised Icon on their respective last albums. The music is described by critics as "Death Metal for advanced players", which "on the one hand kept simple, on the other hand is technically adept" and offers variety. Also on the third long player The Architects of Extinction , the band's music moves on a mixture of slam death metal and deathcore , which at times reminds of Suicide Silence . Compared to its predecessor, the group's music is perceived as more riff-heavy.
