International Rugby Hall of Fame
The International Rugby Hall of Fame was a hall of fame that honored the most outstanding players in the sport of rugby union . It was founded in 1997 by rugby amateurs from New Zealand . Thereafter, new players were added every two years, as well as personalities who made a decisive contribution to the development of rugby.
The International Rugby Hall of Fame Trust was a New Zealand non-profit organization . Its board of directors consisted of ten to twenty appointed members who represented the major rugby nations. Every two years, an examination committee consisting of game analysts and commentators elects. They created a list of 25 possible candidates. Any candidate who received at least six votes from board members was inducted into the Hall of Fame.
After honors were last made in 2007, the International Rugby Hall of Fame was integrated into the World Rugby Hall of Fame in 2014 , which is run by the World Rugby Federation .
