Interwetten is a company founded in 1990 in the online entertainment industry and offers sports betting , live betting, online casino , live casino and games. It was one of the first companies to offer sports betting on the Internet in 1997 . Interwetten is therefore one of the pioneers in the field of online entertainment. The company has been based in Malta since 2005 .
The website is available in ten different languages. Interwetten currently has customers in more than 200 countries and is a well-known sports betting provider, particularly in German-speaking countries and southern Europe. In 2016, bets were placed on more than 300,000 different sporting events in over 70 countries.
The founding member of the European Gaming and Betting Association has been licensed in Malta by the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) since 2005 and has since successfully completed licensing procedures in Italy, Spain, Schleswig-Holstein (Germany) and Ireland. In Germany, Interwetten has applied for a nationwide sports betting license. The concession procedure has not yet been completed.
Licenses
Sports betting, games and casino on www.interwetten.com are operated by Interwetten on the basis of the licenses of Interwetten Gaming Ltd. operated in Malta.
On June 1, 2012, Interwetten España Plc. officially licensed by the Spanish regulatory authority DGOJ and has since been online with sports betting and casino games at www.interwetten.es in Spain .
Since December 2012, Interwetten Gaming Ltd holds a license for sports betting in Schleswig-Holstein . The corresponding approval for casino games from the Ministry of the Interior of Schleswig-Holstein was granted in January 2013.
Company history
The company, originally founded in Vienna in 1990 as a sports betting provider, has been online with the website www.interwetten.com for over 20 years. In July 2004 the product portfolio was expanded to include the casino area. In June 2006, Interwetten launched a skill games platform.

Sports betting has been offered since 1990. In 1997 the betting offer was put online for the first time on the website www.interwetten.com and continuously expanded and supplemented in the following years. Interwetten is therefore a pioneer in the industry.
Casino
Since July 2004 it has been possible to play in the Interwetten online casino. The classic Interwetten Casino operates in Germany , Austria and Switzerland under the "IWCasino" brand. Interwetten offers over 300 different games, including the usual casino games such as roulette and blackjack as well as several hundred slot games. Interwetten differentiates between the Premium and the Diamond Casino.
Online games
The skill games platform was added to the product portfolio in 2006. Talent and skill are required here. The German product range also includes rare games such as " Schnapsen ".

Interwetten has been accessible with mobile devices since 2004. The offer is optimized for Android phones, iPhone , iPad and Windows Phone . At m.interwetten.com bets can e.g. B. be placed via Quickbet.
It is possible to place combination bets and system bets on the go. Quick links such as “Today” only show the daily betting program for the next 24 hours. As already online at www.interwetten.com, it is also possible to place live bets via smartphone , tablet & Co. They can also be combined with one another.
Casino and Live Casino
Interwetten offers its customers the online casino in its own tablet and smartphone version. More than 30 games, games and scratch cards can be accessed on the go. The Interwetten Live Casino (Roulette, Black Jack and Casino Hold'em) is also available on the tablet.

Interwetten has a very diverse sponsorship pool around the world , ranging from football to motorsport to charitable projects.
Soccer
From 2001 to 2004, Betfair sponsor of the Austrian football - second division SC Untersiebenbrunn , who took at that time under the name SC Interwetten.com.
From 2008 to 2011 Interwetten was the main and shirt sponsor of RCD Espanyol Barcelona.
From 2011 to 2013, Interwetten was the official main and shirt sponsor of the Spanish soccer club Sevilla FC .
In addition, Interwetten supported VfB Stuttgart in the German Bundesliga as a premium partner in the 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons . The contract, which was originally concluded until June 30, 2015, was terminated prematurely on December 1, 2014 by Interwetten due to legal concerns about the issuing of licenses. The Italian Serie A clubs AC Florence , AS Livorno , Hellas Verona , Catania Calcio and FC Parma were also part of the Interwetten sponsorship pool in the 2013/14 season.
In addition, Interwetten has international rights packages with perimeter advertising (LED & fixed perimeter) in the Europa League , for World Cup and European Championship qualifiers and friendly international matches.
Interwetten has been the official premium partner of the Hahnenkamm races in Kitzbühel since 2016.
With the 2017/18 season, Interwetten announced a business premium partnership with TSG Hoffenheim.

Until 2006, Interwetten was the official shirt sponsor of the Hannover Scorpions, which were then playing in the DEL.
Motorsport
In 2012 Interwetten was the official sponsor of the Lotus F1 Team in the Formula 1 World Championship. The team's drivers were Kimi Räikkönen and Romain Grosjean .
Interwetten has sponsored the Interwetten Paddock team with top Swiss Moto2 driver Thomas Lüthi since 2006 . In 2010 Hiroshi Aoyama also rode in the Interwetten Honda MotoGP Team and Marcel Schrötter in the Interwetten 125cc Team in the motorcycle world championship.
In addition, the German motorcycle racer Philipp Öttl has been supported in Moto3 since 2013 . Since the race in Australia, Interwetten has also acted as the main sponsor of this team.
The Charouz Racing Team, formerly Interwetten Racing Team, which competes in the World Series of Renault , has also been supported for more than 10 years .

In 2009 Interwetten was the title sponsor of the Interwetten Austrian Open in Kitzbühel, an ATP tournament in the 250 category.
Solidario
“Interwetten Solidario” pursues the mission of “standing up for one another”, just like the German word solidarity. The company tries to "share its joy and enthusiasm in sport with others." This project particularly supports athletes who are not always in the public eye, but who are nonetheless active in sport with no less enthusiasm and commitment.
The idea for the project came from a joint campaign with RCD Espanyol Barcelona. A calendar project to support children with Down syndrome was implemented here in 2008 . The term "Solidario" originates from this campaign and was still used.
Aside from sport and the public spotlight, Interwetten is also committed to a good cause and supports, for example, the St. Anna Children's Hospital, the Amnesty International organization and the Licht ins Dunkel campaign . In addition, the Austrian wheelchair basketball club "Sitting Bulls" has been financially supported by Interwetten since 2006.

Heartbeat Foundation
Since the beginning of 2013, Interwetten has been supporting the Heartbeat Foundation, an Austrian non-profit organization that sees itself as a “platform in the fight against sudden cardiac arrest in sport”. The Heartbeat Foundation's manifesto states:
“Heartbeat stands for a future in which there is no sudden cardiac death in sport. Heartbeat loves sport and every athlete. Heartbeat wants more attention to the insidious cause of death of sudden cardiac death, to which (too) many apparently healthy people have already fallen victim, especially in sport. "
The Heartbeat Foundation aims to equip as many sports facilities as possible with automated external defibrillators (AED); including setup, maintenance and training for athletes, trainers and first aiders to enable optimal use in an emergency. In Germany, around 60,000 people die of sudden cardiac death every year; around 15,000 people in Austria. The use of defibrillators in the first three minutes increases the probability of survival by 70 percent.
According to the Heartbeat Foundation, donations received are invested in projects designed by the advisory board to promote sports facilities. The funded projects are not subject to any geographical or other restrictions.
