Ipomoea ramosissima is a plant type from the genus of Morningglory ( Ipomoea ) from the family of wind plants (Convolvulaceae). The species is common in Peru .

description

Ipomoea ramosissima is a branching morning glory that is mostly almost hairless. The leaf stalks reach a length of 2.5 cm, only in the armpits they are usually tomentose. The leaf blade is heart-shaped, ovate, seldom lobed and pointed forward and small-pointed. The base consists of two blunt, 2.5 to 5 cm long ears.

The inflorescences consist of four to eight flowers , are umbel-shaped, zymose and protrude well beyond the leaves . The inflorescence stalks are short. Pre-leaves are available. The sepals are almost the same shape; the outer ones are yellowish in color, ovate, elongated, blunt and small prickly, the inner ones are lanceolate, pointed and 4 to 6 mm long. The crown is 3 cm long and mostly white in color, rarely pink.

The fruits are four-chambered, hairless capsules , which also contain four hairless seeds .

distribution

The distribution area extends from southern Mexico to tropical South America. The species is common in Peru in the San Martín , Huánuco , Junín and Loreto regions.
