Irina Igorevna Terentjeva (born June 30, 1984 in Leningrad ) is a former Lithuanian cross-country skier .

Career

Terentjeva took part in competitions of the Fédération Internationale de Ski from 2001 to 2011 . At the Junior World Championships in 2000 in Štrbské Pleso , Slovakia , Terentjeva started for the first time at a major international event and finished 35th in the sprint. also at the Junior World Championships 2001 in Karpacz , Poland , she only started in the sprint and finished 40th. At the Junior World Championships in Schonach in 2002 , she won bronze over 5 km freestyle. At the following Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City , she reached 48th place in the sprint and 15 km mass start race. She ran her first World Cup race in November 2002 in Kiruna , which she finished with 55th place over 5 km freestyle. At the 2003 Winter Universiade in Tarvisio , Italy , she was seventh in the sprint, 17th in the mass start race over 15 kilometers and 25th in the classic style over five kilometers. At the Junior World Championships in 2003 in Sollefteå , Sweden , she was 20th in the sprint and 38th over five kilometers in the classic style. Her best placement at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2003 in Val di Fiemme was 27th in the sprint. Over 30 kilometers she was 39th and in the double pursuit she was 58th. At her last Junior World Championships in 2004 in Stryn , Norway , she was 17th in the sprint and 19th over five kilometers.

At the Winter Universiade 2005 in Innsbruck and Seefeld in Tirol , she was eighth over five kilometers in the free technique, 16th in the sprint and 36th in the mass start race over 15 kilometers. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf in 2005 , she reached 54th place in the sprint, 46th place in the 15 km pursuit race and 39th place over 10 km freestyle. Her first and only World Cup points she got in November 2005 in Kuusamo with the 25th place over 10 km freestyle. At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin , she achieved 53rd place in the 15 km pursuit race and 37th place in the sprint, in the mass start race she did not reach the goal. At the 2007 Winter Universiade in Pragelato , Italy , she narrowly missed the first international medal of her career with fourth place over 15 kilometers in free technique. She was 13th in the sprint, 21st in the pursuit and 29th over five kilometers. Her best result at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2007 in Sapporo was 30th place over 10 km freestyle. In the pursuit race over 15 kilometers she was 44th and sprint she finished 58th. At the 2009 Winter Universiade in Yabuli , China , she was ninth over five kilometers and eleventh in the sprint. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Liberec in 2009 , she finished 53rd in the sprint and 50th in the 30 km mass start race. At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , she reached 63rd place over 10 km freestyle and 49th place in sprint. After she only competed in lower class races in Finland the following season, Terentjeva ended her career in 2011.
