Islamic Information Center Ulm
The Islamic Information Center Ulm (IIZ Ulm eV) had been a Da'wa center and a hub for Islamist activities in Ulm (Zeitblomstrasse) since February 1, 1999 . The publication Denk mal islamisch was published in autumn 2003 and later only appeared on the internet. German converts to Islam such as Thomas Hamza Fischer are among the founders of the IIZ . The IIZ offered replacement structures for the multicultural house (MKH) in Neu-Ulm , which was banned on December 28, 2005 . On October 2, 2007 the IIZ disbanded itself.

Statement of the IIZ
In the Tagesspiegel of September 9, 2007, the IIZ commented on the suspicion of acting as a meeting point for terrorists. In it, the authors differentiated between “we” (the IIZ and its visitors) and “you” (the “outsiders”) and took the position of having Allah behind them. The IIZ is “repeatedly brought into disrepute”, although it is “a peaceful group” of Muslims and “everyone is warmly welcomed”. Therefore, one cannot control who visits the center.
The allegations against the IIZ had come about “once again” in a “really outrageous, insidious and deceptive manner”. The authors of the statement suspect that society's morality has been lost and feel "betrayed and offended". They will fight back and not allow the center to be closed. The authors invoked religious freedom and democracy , in whose name, however, a " smear campaign " against Muslims was taking place in America and Europe . The reason for this, the authors suspect, is that non-Muslims cannot accept it when someone quits the church and converts to Islam “for coronation”. This presumption is connected with the wish that he who “ follows the path of light” may be “ guided ”.
After all, the announcement states that the suspects have not visited the IIZ for years. The authors call on the judiciary to publish the current membership list and the confiscated books of the IIZ - the "harmless" ones.
