Island Games 1999

The 1999 Island Games were the eighth edition of the Games. They took place on the island of Gotland from June 26th to July 2nd, 1999 . 1858 athletes took part.

The Cayman Islands and Rhodes participated for the first time. Compared to the last edition, Iceland did not compete because independent island states were no longer permitted. But the Prince Edward Island returned after 1993.
