Iwan Wassiljewitsch Bogdanow ( Russian Иван Васильевич Богданов ; born April 13, 1974 ) is a Russian biathlete who achieved his greatest successes especially in the sub-discipline of cross-country running.
Ivan Bogdanov competed in several races in the Biathlon World Cup in 1993 . The best result was a 99th place in Kontiolahti . It took almost 15 years before further assignments at international level followed in winter. In 2008 he took part in races of the Biathlon European Cup.
Since the early 2000s, Bogdanow has been particularly successful in the cross-country style of summer biathlon. In Jambrozowa he won the bronze medal in the relay race at the 2001 Summer Biathlon World Championships with Alexei Kowjasin , Dmitri Nikiforow and Alexei Cheeparev . In 2005 he won with Alexei Kobelew , Oleg Rudenko and Alexander Katschanowski in Muonio season silver. Bogdanow finally won gold in 2007 with Yevgenia Michailowa , Anna Sorokina and Alexei Katrenko in the mixed relay competition in Otepää . He also won the bronze medal in the mass start race behind Katrenko and Indrek Tobreluts . At the Summer Biathlon European Championships in 2005 in Bystřice pod Hostýnem he won his first bronze medal behind Timur Nurmejew and Nikiforow. The Summer Biathlon European Championships 2007 in Tysovets were particularly successful . He won the sprint title, also won the bronze medal in the mass start behind Kowjasin and Oleksandr Bilanenko and silver in mixed with Michailowa, Natalja Solowjowa and Kowjasin. At the Summer Biathlon World Championships 2009 in Oberhof Bogdanow was 26th in the sprint and 15th in the pursuit. There was also a sixth place in the sprint and a 12th place in the mass start at the 2009 European Championship in Nové Město na Moravě .
