Jörg Fischer (drummer)
Jörg Fischer (born July 13, 1971 in Roth near Nuremberg) is a German jazz and improvisation musician ( drums ).
Fischer, who grew up in Einbeck , received his first drum lessons from Abbey Rader in 1985 . He first played in local bands, then turned to free jazz . From 1993 to 1997 he studied drums in Mainz with Janusz Stefański . Already during his studies he worked with Uwe Oberg , and later in a trio with Georg Wolf . He also founded a trio with Burkard Kunkel . The Uwe Oberg Quartet worked with saxophonists Matthias Schubert , Heinz Sauer and Frank Gratkowski . He also toured with the Jürgen Wuchner Group (with Harry Beckett and Wollie Kaiser ) and was involved in the Cologne James Choice Orchestra . In 2005 and 2006 he worked in a trio with Paul Hubweber and Sebastian Gramss , and later with Saadet Türköz and Peter Brötzmann .
