architecture
The design of the tombstones ( Mazewa ) was carried out consistently until the 19th century in the basic form of upright, hewn and upwardly vaulted grave steles made of sandstone, decorated with symbols such as the blessing hands of the Kohanim , the Levite jug or the tree of life .
The Tahara House , built in 1856, houses a stone for the ritual washing of corpses, as well as the room of the Chewra Kadisha (burial brotherhood).
