Jānis Andersons (born October 7, 1986 in Riga , Latvian SSR ) is a Latvian ice hockey player who has been under contract with HKM Zvolen in the Slovakian extra league since June 2015 .
Career
Jānis Andersons began his career as a hockey player in his hometown, where he played for HK Prizma Riga in the Latvian Ice Hockey League from 2001 to 2003 , as well as Division B of the East European Hockey League , and in the 2002/03 season for HK Riga 2000 was active in the East European Hockey League. The defender then spent three years in the junior departments of the Swedish ice hockey club Stocksunds IF , AIK Ishockey and Almtuna IS , where he also worked for the AIK first team in the third division Division 1 and the Almtuna IS professional team in the second division HockeyAllsvenskan .
The 2006/07 season began Andersons at his ex-club HK Riga 2000 in Latvia and ended it at Vsetínská hokejová in the Czech extra league . He then spent another three seasons in the extra league at his league rivals HC Oceláři Třinec until his contract ended after the 2009/10 season. For the 2010/11 season he returned to his Latvian homeland and joined Dinamo Riga from the Continental Hockey League . For Dinamo he came to a few KHL inserts in the following two years and otherwise played for HK Liepājas Metalurgs in the Belarusian extra league .
In August 2012 he completed trial training and two European Trophy games for KLH Chomutov , but received no contract. A short time later he was signed by HK Kompanjon-Naftohas Kiev from the Ukrainian ice hockey league . For the 2013/14 season , Andersons moved to Germany to the Heilbronner Falken , which played in the DEL2 . After only one season in Germany, he moved to the Slovakian extra league for HC Dukla Trenčín .
International
For Latvia , Andersons took part in the junior division of the U18 Junior B World Championships in 2003 and 2004 , as well as the U20 Junior B World Championship in 2005 and the U20 Junior World Championship in 2006 . In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad to qualify for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and the 2010 World Cup in Germany .
