Darnell "JD" Williams (born May 22, 1978 in Newark , New Jersey ) is an American actor . His best-known roles include " Kenny Wangler " from Oz , "Preston" Bodie "Broadus" from The Wire and "Jabari Morris" from Saints & Sinners .

life and work

JD Williams was born in Newark , New Jersey . There he also attended Newark Arts High School .

His first success in a television series was with the HBO series Oz - Hell Behind Bars . In this he played from 1997 to 2000 in 23 episodes the prison inmate "Kenny Wangler". From 2002 to 2006 he played his best known role in the series The Wire as the drug dealer "Preston" Bodie "Broadus", whom he played in 42 episodes.

It was followed by several smaller roles in series such as The Good Wife , or The Night Of - The truth one night and movies (including Surviving and Family Shelter ) before the Saints & Sinners of Bounce TV again received a leading role.

On the side, he offers free acting classes for kids and teens at the Newark Youth One-Stop Career Center in Newark and has appeared in various R&B and hip-hop music videos.
