Jack Andrew Carlin (born April 23, 1997 in Paisley ) is a British track cyclist .
Athletic career
As a junior, Jack Carlin won medals at the Scottish Track Championships and the School Games 2013. Because of his great potential, he was appointed SSE Next Generation Ambassador .
In 2015 Carlin won the bronze medal in the team sprint together with Joseph Truman and Alexander Joliffe at the European Track Championships (U23) . The following year he competed in several international team sprint competitions with Truman and Ryan Owens . The trio first became U23 European champions together , then vice-European champions . In November 2016 they won the team sprint in the first two races of the Track Cycling World Cup 2016/17 in Glasgow and Apeldoorn .
At the U23 European Championships in 2017 , Carlin won the team sprint title and bronze in the keirin with Ryan Owens and Joseph Truman . The following year he was two-time runner-up in the sprint and team sprint (with Ryan Owens and Jason Kenny ). At the Commonwealth Games , he won silver in the sprint. In 2019 he finished third with Kenny, Owens and Truman in the team sprint at the European Games and second at the European Championships . In 2020 he started the Olympic year with the vice world championship in team sprint.
