Band history

The Jack Million Band under the direction of Jack Coenen

The Jack Million Band was founded in 1995 by the Dutch trombonist, arranger and band leader Jack Coenen in Maastricht.

This continued his past as a trombonist with the Glenn Miller Orchestra . The Jack Million Band's repertoire ranges from swing of the 1930s and 40s to standard dances and current pop hits.

The international ensemble consists of jazz musicians from the Maastricht / Aachen region, especially alumni of the Maastricht Conservatory. Jack Conen works there as a lecturer for jazz trombone , harmony and big band .

After many successful concert appearances, especially at the Glenn Miller Birthplace Festival in Clarinda (Iowa), the Jack Million Band is considered one of the most authentic big bands in the style of Glenn Miller . The Jack Million Band is regularly committed to this festival.

In early 2011 the ensemble was inducted into the Sally Bennett Big Band Hall of Fame.

The Jack Million Band also performs as a dance orchestra at galas in Germany.
