Jacob Anderskov (* 1975 ) is a Danish jazz pianist .

Life

Anderskov studied from 2002 at the Rytmisk Music Conservatory in Copenhagen, as well as musicology at the University of Copenhagen and in New York in 1999/2000. From the 2000s he worked in the Danish and international jazz scene, a. a. with Lotte anchor , Jesper Lovdal , Stefan Pasborg , Kresten Osgood ; Since then, recordings have been made with Liudas Mockūnas , Benjamin Koppel , Marc Berstein as well as in numerous projects under his own name, u. a. Anderskov Accident, Agnostic Revelations and the Jacob Anderskov Trio u. a. with Kasper Tom Christiansen , Michael Formanek , Peter Dahlgren , Kasper Tranberg , Airto Moreira , Gerald Cleaver and Jim Black . In the band project Real People he played with Rudresh Mahanthappa , in the band project Lovedale (album Coziness Kills , 2008), with Cuong Vu , Chris Speed , Jonas Westergaard and Anders Mogensen . In the field of jazz he was involved in 35 recording sessions between 2000 and 2012.

Anderskov was named by Jazz Podium as one of the most extraordinary artists in contemporary music; He has received numerous awards, including the Danish Music Award in the “Danish Jazz Composer of the Year 2013” ​​category.
