Friedrich Friese I.
Jacob Friedrich Friese , called (Friedrich) Friese I , (baptized August 28, 1765 in Bassendorf ; † November 5, 1833 in Parchim ), was a German schoolmaster , organist and organ builder .
Life
Jacob Friedrich Friese was born as the second son of the schoolmaster, organist and later organ builder Matthias Friese and the schoolmaster's daughter Magdalena Sophia, nee. Hupe, born in Bassendorf. He also became a teacher, organist and organ builder and initially lived in Polchow near Güstrow . In 1802 he relocated his ducal-privileged organ building workshop to Parchim.
Jacob Friedrich Friese's nephew Friedrich Matthias Theodor Friese (called Friedrich Friese II) did his organ builder apprenticeship with him from 1807 and took over the workshop after his death in 1833. He later listed 37 new organs and over a hundred organ repairs by his uncle. Friese I thus became the founder of one of the most important organ building workshops in Mecklenburg in the 19th century. Friedrich Friese I died on November 5, 1833 in Parchim.
