Jakow Vyacheslavovich Trenin ( Russian Яков Вячеславович Тренин ; English transcription: Yakov Vyacheslavovich Trenin ; born January 13, 1997 in Chelyabinsk ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Nashville Predators and the National Hockey League since July 2015 (parallel to the NHL) for their farm team , the Milwaukee Admirals , plays in the American Hockey League (AHL) on the position of the center .

Career

Jakow Trenin began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of HK Traktor Chelyabinsk . For the 2014/15 season , the Russian moved to North America to the Olympiques de Gatineau from the Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec (LHJMQ) after being selected in the CHL Import Draft . The center was selected in the second round of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft as the 55th player by the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League (NHL).

In their organization, Trenin started regularly for the Milwaukee Admirals farm team in the American Hockey League (AHL) in the 2017/18 season , after making his professional debut for the team in the 2015/16 playoffs . At the beginning of the 2019/20 season, he was on the ice for the first time for Nashville in the NHL.

International

For Russia , Trenin took part in the junior division of the 2017 U20 World Junior Championship and won the bronze medal with his team. In seven tournament games he reached four scorer points , including two goals.
