James Mwangi Macharia

James Mwangi Macharia (born June 23, 1984 ) is a Kenyan long-distance runner who specializes in road running.

In 2004 he won the Sapporo Half Marathon . The following year, a victory at the Virginia Beach Half Marathon was followed by a seventh place at the 2005 World Half Marathon Championships in Edmonton. In 2006 he finished seventh at the CPC Loop Den Haag .

In 2007 he qualified with a second place at the Vienna City Marathon for the marathon of the World Athletics Championships in Osaka , in which he did not, however, reach the goal. At the Rotterdam Half Marathon 2008 he came in 13th place.

In 2009 he finished sixth in the Sapporo Half Marathon and fifth in the Nagoya Half Marathon , and in 2010 he finished fourth in the Sendai Half Marathon and Sapporo Half Marathon, respectively. The following year he ran a fourth place in Sapporo and a third place in the Philadelphia Half Marathon at the Fukuoka Marathon in second. In 2012 he was again fourth in Sapporo.

In 2013 he returned to the 42.195 km distance with a third place in the Lake Biwa marathon . In 2014 he finished ninth in the Lake Biwa marathon, sixth in the Enschede marathon and eighth in the Valencia marathon .
