Jan Philip Schulze

Jan Philip Schulze (* in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German pianist and professor .

biography

Schulze studied with Klaus Schilde and Michael Schäfer at the Munich University of Music and with Lev Naumov at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory . As a lieder accompanist and chamber musician , he played with Juliane Banse , Dietrich Henschel and Jonas Kaufmann, among others . He appeared in concert halls across Europe and at the festivals in Edinburgh , Lucerne , Munich , Salzburg and Schwarzenberg . A special focus of his artistic work is the interpretation of contemporary music . He gave world premieres of the works of Dror Feiler , Beat Furrer , Wolfgang Rihm , Dieter Schnebel , Johannes Schöllhorn and Christoph Staude . Since 2004 he has been professor of song design at the Hanover University of Music .
