Jan Platil (born February 9, 1983 in Kladno , Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech ice hockey player who has been under contract with Orli Znojmo in the Erste Bank Ice Hockey League since September 2011 .
Career
Jan Platil began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of HC Kladno , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Czech extra league in the 1999/2000 season . In his rookie year he stayed without points in nine games and received two penalty minutes. Then the defender went to North America, where he was initially active from 2000 to 2003 for the Barrie Colts in the Canadian Junior League Ontario Hockey League . During this period he was selected in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft in the seventh round as a total of 218th player by the Ottawa Senators . For their farm team , the Binghamton Senators , he played in the American Hockey League from 2003 to 2006 , scoring 28 points in 209 games, including one goal.
The 2006/07 season began Platil with Lukko Rauma in the Finnish SM-liiga . During the season he moved to HK CSKA Moscow from the Russian Super League . In this he also spent the following season , but with Amur Khabarovsk . For the 2008/09 season , the left-handed shooter was committed by HK tractor Chelyabinsk from the newly established Continental Hockey League . After one and a half years with HK Traktor, he returned to his Czech homeland in December 2009, where he finished the 2009/10 season at HC Oceláři Třinec in the extra league . In addition, he came as a loan player to a use for HC Šumperk in the relegation of the second-class 1st division .
The 2010/11 season began Platil at his home club HC Kladno in the Czech Republic. In the further course of the season he was in two games for HK Poprad in the Slovak Extra League on the ice. In January 2011, the former Czech international signed a contract with the Nürnberg Ice Tigers , for which he gave a goal assist in a total of 21 games by the end of the season and with which he failed in the pre-playoffs at Adler Mannheim . In September 2011 he was signed by Orli Znojmo .
International
For the Czech Republic , Platil only took part in the 2001 U18 World Junior Championship in the junior division. In the senior sector he was in his country's squad at the Euro Hockey Tour in 2007 and 2009 and at the 2007 World Cup .
