Jan Wulf-Schnabel

Jan Wulf-Schnabel (* 1969 ) is a German social scientist and social manager . He is chairman of the Drachensee Foundation and founder of the Institute for Inclusive Education as an affiliate of the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel . He was professor for theories and methods of social work at the Catholic University of Social Sciences in Berlin . He has been a Fellow at Ashoka since May 2017 .

Life

Before his scientific training, Jan Wulf-Schnabel worked for the Lübeck Drägerwerk , for IG Metall and for the Hamburg educational institution Work and Life . From 1993 to 1996 he studied sociology , economics , business administration and law at the University of Hamburg . As a scientist and management consultant , he worked with Joachim Lohse at Ökopol - Institute for Ecology and Politics GmbH, with whom he published joint reports and expert opinions . This was followed by a parental leave and other professional positions. During his master's degree at the University of Hamburg and his subsequent doctorate between 2007 and 2010 at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg , Wulf-Schnabel worked as a project manager and as a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences in Kiel and as a lecturer at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel . During this time he researched and published together with Uta Klein in the field of critical men's research . Immediately after completing his doctorate , Wulf-Schnabel was appointed to the professorship for theories and methods of social work . His involvement in university politics includes a. his work as a liaison lecturer of the Hans-Böckler-Foundation and the membership in the jury of the Ars legendi-Preis of the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft and the University Rectors' Conference 2012. Wulf-Schnabel switched to the Drachensee Foundation from his professorship . There he was initially responsible for personnel and organizational development as a member of the management team . Since January 2019 he has been a board member of the Drachensee Foundation. Based on a model project of the Drachensee Foundation, he founded the Institute for Inclusive Education, through which people with so-called intellectual disabilities who have previously worked in a workshop for disabled people (WfbM) work full-time as qualified education specialists at universities and technical colleges . There they convey to students as well as teachers, specialists and managers the realities of life, the needs and competencies of people with disabilities at first hand. Wulf-Schnabel has been a fellow of the global Ashoka Foundation since May 2016.

Functions

At the university, Wulf-Schnabel represented the denomination of theories and methods of social work and also represented the field of social economy and social management in teaching . The main focus of the lectures at the university was:
