Jason Beghe
Jason Beghe (born March 12, 1960 in New York City ) is an American actor .
Life
Together with his friend and future colleague David Duchovny , he attended the Collegiate School in Manhattan , a private school for boys, as a child . After working as a model for a while, he was able to gain a foothold as an actor in the film and television business. Beghe is married and lives in Los Angeles .
Beghe had been close to Scientology since 1994 and rose to the rank of Operating Thetan Level V in the internal hierarchy after joining the organization . In 2005 he was seen in a commercial for the religious organization, at times he acted as the organization's spokesman. In 2007 he left Scientology. In a sensational video that Beghe published on YouTube , he explained his reasons for leaving in spring 2008 and warned against the organization. Beghe was considered a model scientologist in the organization and is the first prominent alumni to speak out against her publicly. In 2015 he appeared in Alex Gibney's documentary Scientology: A Prison of Faith , where he shared his experiences with the movement.
In November 2017, it was reported that Beghe's behavior had been investigated while filming Chicago PD in 2016 . He was perceived as overly aggressive and attracted attention with offensive comments. Beghe released a statement apologizing for his behavior. In December 2017, after 16 years of marriage, he filed for divorce from his wife, with whom he has two children.
