Jason Lewis (born June 25, 1971 in Newport Beach , California ) is an American actor and former model . Lewis was born the son of a judge and a nurse. He grew up in Los Alamitos , Southern California , with his brother and two younger sisters . After attending Los Alamitos High School , he worked for a plumber and as a waiter before moving to Paris in 1993 and later to Milan .
There he was successful as a model and worked for the fashion companies Guess , Tommy Hilfiger and Hugo Boss , among others . It also ran at major fashion shows in Milan, New York and Paris. In 1996 he was nominated as "Male Model of the Year" by VH1 for the VH1 - Fashion Awards . Together with Mark Vanderloo and Alex Lundqvist , he was one of the most famous male models of the 1990s. He is under contract with the Wilhelmina Models agency .
He later took private acting lessons and from 1997 had guest appearances in various television series. In 1997 he appeared in four episodes of Beverly Hills, 90210 , 2003 in CSI: Miami , from 2003 to 2004 in sixteen episodes of Sex and the City , in 2005 in six episodes of Charmed , 2006 in The Evidence , 2007 in Six Degrees and in seven episodes of Brothers & Sisters .
He has also made films with Jürgen Prochnow (2001 The Elite ), Adrien Brody and Keira Knightley (2005 The Jacket ), Kashmira Shah (2006 My Bollywood Bride ), Paul Walker and Laurence Fishburne (2007 The Death and Life of Bobby Z ) as well Kevin Costner and Demi Moore (2007 Mr. Brooks ). In 2008 he was seen in the role of Jerry "Smith" Jarrod in the movie Sex And The City , whose role he also took on in the sequel Sex and the City 2 .
From November 2005 to November 2006 he lived with actress Rosario Dawson in Los Angeles .
