Jason Miller (born March 1, 1971 in Edmonton , Alberta ) is a Canadian ice hockey player . Until January 2010 he played for the Dresdner Eislöwen in the 2nd Bundesliga ice hockey on the position of the left winger . During his career, he completed six NHL games for the New Jersey Devils .

Career

Jason Miller began his career with the Medicine Hat Tigers alongside Trevor Linden , Wayne Hynes, and Chris Osgood . During the NHL Entry Draft 1989 he was selected by the New Jersey Devils in the first round in 18th place ( drafted ). In his final season in the Western Hockey League he reached 136 points scorer in 66 games and was used because of this performance by the Devils in an NHL game.

In the following two years Jason Miller played in the American Hockey League with the Utica Devils , the then farm team of the New Jersey Devils. Due to good performance in Utica with 55 and 71 points, respectively, he got further missions in the NHL, but could not prevail there. After he played in the 1993/94 season for the new farm team of the Devils, the Albany River Rats , but despite outstanding performance - with 22 goals and 53 assists - no further chance in the NHL squad, he moved to the farm team of the Detroit Red Wings . At the Adirondack Red Wings he was the team's second-best scorer with 32 goals and 33 assists behind Andrew McKim . Since he again got no missions in the NHL, he decided to move to Europe at the age of 24. His first station there was the HPK Hämeenlinna in the SM-liiga , where he scored four goals and six assists in 22 games.

After a brief stint at ESV Kaufbeuren in the German Ice Hockey League , he returned to North America and tried to recommend himself for an NHL team with the Peoria Rivermen . In the 1996/97 season he played for San Antonio Dragons in the International Hockey League and performed well, but still got no contract offer from the NHL. Therefore, he decided to return to Europe and joined the Düsseldorfer EG . A year later he moved within the DEL to the Nürnberg Ice Tigers , for which he completed four seasons and achieved 83 goals and 111 assists in 210 DEL games.

Via the Hamburg Freezers and the Schwenninger Wild Wings , he joined the Eisbären Regensburg in the 2nd ice hockey Bundesliga in 2004 , where he found his old strength. He was the top scorer of his team several times and was one of the team's leaders alongside Martin Ančička .

In April 2008 he tore his Achilles tendon and was then initially without a club. From November 2008 he trained with the Dresdner Eislöwen and a short time later was licensed for the 2nd Bundesliga.

In January 2010, Miller was released from the Ice Lions.
